Disk fragmentation is one of the many reasons a computer does not perform as well as before. Although it takes a long time, defragmenting the hard drive is worth the wait. Auslogics Disk Defrag Touch can make this operation faster and more comfortable. Besides its powerful defragmentation capabilities, one of the software's main features is the fact that it supports touch screen monitors. Rather than squinting at a compact interface and looking for certain options in convoluted menus, you can do everything in full screen mode, by touching the screen with your finger.

Auslogics Disk Defrag Touch is distributed as a freeware application, which means that you don't have to pay for it. It works on Windows 7, Win 8 and Win 8.1 and it can be installed in a fast and simple manner. The installer is displayed in full screen mode and once you complete the setup process, the application's options will appear on the same interface right away, without the need to restart anything.

The software is designed for touch screen monitors, but you may control it with a mouse, if you don't have such a monitor. As previously suggested, the user interface is displayed in full screen mode. All important options are placed right in front of you and they are displayed as large tiles, with large icons and fonts. Auslogics Disk Defrag Touch comes with several features, for defragmenting the hard drive, optimizing games and applications and for detecting junk files, registry errors and other issues. These features can be found on separate pages, which can be displayed by swiping with your finger across the screen or by clicking and dragging with your mouse.

You can defragment one or more disk partitions, but it is also possible to defragment specific folders. By default, the application displays your local partitions on the Defrag page, as well as an option for adding folders to the same list. Auslogics Disk Defrag Touch provides separate options for analyzing selected drives or folders and for performing quick or full defragmentations. When the process is complete, the program will display various statistics and you will be able to view a full report as well.

Optimizing games and programs are similar procedures and they involve defragmenting the contents of their folders. All you have to do is select a listed entry or add a new one and click a button to optimize. When it comes to looking for junk files and other issues, Auslogics Disk Defrag Touch will start scanning automatically, once you access the System Health page.

The general settings menu contains many useful options. You can choose different defragmentation algorithms, integrate the program into Windows Explorer and even schedule automatic defragmentation tasks. It is also worth mentioning that Auslogics Disk Defrag Touch comes with an interesting achievements system. The program will award you with points and badges, if you defragment or perform others tasks often, which you can redeem for various prizes. This is also a good method of encouraging users to maintain their computers regularly.

Pros

The software provides powerful defragmentation and optimization tools. Its user interface has a modern and elegant design and it provides full support for touch screen monitors. Also, Auslogics Disk Defrag Touch encourages users to maintain their computers, with an interesting achievements system.

Cons

You have to download and install a separate tool if you wish to solve the issues found with the System Health scanner. Thanks to its stylish user interface and powerful features, Auslogics Disk Defrag Touch makes tedious defragmentation operations seamless and fast.
